Out of Sight

For this tutorial you will need the materials in the zip file below.

This tutorial was written using PSP2020 Ultimate. To work this tutorial, it is assumed you have some working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro. Unzip the Materials in a folder you will create on your desktop called Out of Sight. Duplicate the tubes and use the duplicates to work with. Close out the originals to keep them from getting deleted. Place the Diamonds.bmp in your PSP Files/Patterns folder. Save your work often. No plugins were used in this tutorial.

Use the bookmark below to mark your place along the way.

1. In Materials Palette set the Foreground color to #b6c0c0, Background color to #4c5451.

2. New/New Image 1086px wide X 854px Height. CTRL+A.

3. Open 2021-05-26_183224.jpg. Copy/Paste into Selection. CTRL+D.

4. We are going to remove the Egret from the image using our Object Removal Tool. You may remove it however you please but using the Removal tool is interesting.

5. From the tool bar, select the Image Removal Tool. Older versions of PSP may not have this feature. In this case, I will include a finished layer for you to use.

6. Go to Object Remover in tool bar/Selection mode - select object (a part of the Egret) to remove. I did portions of her in sections rather than all at once. Next to the selections mode you will see the square source mode. Clicking on that will give us a large square which we can resize/move using its nodes to select what we want to replace within our selected object section.

7. Click on the check mark to Apply. CTRL+D to deselect. The space where the Egret was does not have to be perfect, just similar as we will be putting other images on top of this layer.

8. Continue these steps until all of the Egret is gone and you have a sea scene. Here is mine.
